異世界からの来訪者 ~four days in japan~

My trip had a great start... NOT! Well, getting out money was fine, and buying the train ticket, but then I got on the train going towards Yokohama instead of Shinagawa! I wasn't even looking... I wasn't sure how to go from Yokohama to Ginza, so I just went back to the airport, and then to Higashi Ginza. Bye train fare money! A waste of time too, but at least my flight arrived earlier than expected. And I got a code for the free wi-fi service. It was really useful.
Caution sign on the THIRD and final train I took that night, and an Osomatsu-san poster in Higashi Ginza station. When I left the station, it didn't take me too long to realise I wasn't gonna have much luck finding my hotel. Which exit did I come from? Where's Subway? Why isn't this darn tablet GPS working? Luckily, an old man (of all people) helped me find the place. I stayed at the cabin hotel, which is small, nice, and has just enough room to stand. But the cabins can be kind of warm, and I couldn't sleep because I didn't want to miss World Trigger. LOL
Welcome to the Psyren Immigration Centre! And a sweet tuna sign that couldn't be anywhere else but Tsukiji. In the light, it was much easier to figure out where I was going. It also helped that I made a much more detailed plan on getting to Hinode Pier.
Breakfast?? I was planning on going to McDonalds, but a few things happened. I found a vending machine with soup, and was excited to get the shiruko, but it was totally gross! I like red bean, but it was gross! I put my bag in a coin locker at Takeshiba station, but then I decided I wanted my jacket and gloves. I bought the dorayaki in a vending machine so that I could get more 100 yen coins, and paid the 300 again. So I decided not to go to McDonalds. At least the dorayaki was alright. The area around Takeshiba and Hinode reminds me of Halifax just a bit... :)
Hotaluna and Himiko. They're very pretty on the outside, but the inside isn't anything special. The view isn't any better than the Halifax/Dartmouth ferry either. Heck, back here you get to see TWO bridges, not just one! The price is also about a quarter of the price of the Hotaluna... but even though it wasn't that exciting, the Hotaluna was still a good way to get to Odaiba. Using a paper map and the road signs, it was easy to walk to the Big Sight. I planned this trip to be at the same time as a doujin event which included World Trigger, but it wasn't really worth it. I bought some nice things and it was amazing to see World Trigger cosplay in real life, but the ticket price was kind of high for the amount of time it took to look at the World Trigger-related booths.
Gamers, and Bokuto on the side of a gachapon machine. I didn't even go into Gamers, but I needed to take a photo of the Di Gi Charat sign. There are some good stores, but I had given myself way more time than I needed. I only spent about 3000 yen, between two Lashinban and a Toranoana. I was tempted by (and kinda regret not buying) some small KanColle figures though. Kongou... Kaga... Even Yukikaze...
BB-8 on a vending machine, and what I saw when I left the hotel in the morning! It was raining a bit the night before, but there was much more now. And the snow! I definitely didn't expect to see snow in Tokyo! Bought an umbrella, ate McDonalds hotcakes (the syrup seems a lot lighter - I kinda feel like it takes away from the true hotcake experience), and made the mistake of getting on the train during rush hour. Thankfully, I was only going to Tokyo Station, two stops away.
Funassyi display at Tokyo Station, and Nadesico pachislot ad in Ikebukuro... almost makes me want to play. Almost. It took me a while to find the Character Street in Tokyo Station, and for a while I was totally confused, wondering why it was past the ticket gate. I forgot I still had my ticket on me. The Jump store is very good; I bought the new issue, some World Trigger items, and just for laughs, a pin of Asta from Black Clover. Spent almost as much as I did in Akiba. The Pokemon store was nice too. After the currently playing song finished, Advance Adventure, one of the few Japanese Pokemon songs I know, started playing, and I kinda had a moment. (LOL)
